I still have some spreads from 2016 that are sitting in my album (the pictures are printed) just waiting to be completed. I was happy to see that Ali’s October Digital kit was perfect for our long weekend camping trip last Fall.
I printed the journaling cards at home, I did change the size of some of the cards, such as the green checkered pattern above, which was originally a 4×6. That’s the beauty of digital elements, you can manipulate them to make them fit to your project. All of the embellishments are from the digital kit or past AE story kits, except for the maple leaf, which is from a past Studio Calico kit.
I usually have more journaling on my PL spreads, but I really loved Ali’s quotes cards from the digital kit, I opted to include more of those on my layout. Also there wasn’t much journaling I could add, it was camping trip, the picture speaks for themselves.
My process for PL is very well established, every week I edit my pictures (from my phone) and save them to a special folder (on my phone) makes them easier to find when uploading for printing. Every month or so, I will upload them via the an app for printing. Once I receive my pictures I put them right away in the pocket pages, this way when I’m ready to work on my PL album my pictures are ready to go. It really simplifies my process. My time for editing pictures (which is the task I like the least) is kept to a minimum (about 15 minutes a week) and I can focus on the creative part of my PL. If you are trying to stay on top of your photo editing/PL I highly recommend you try my method.
The right side of my PL spread featured 4×6 pictures, which I don’t often do but the scenery picture was best when printed as a 4×6, so I adapted my spread for this picture. The journaling card at the top right is from a past AE kit and worked perfectly in my spread. Again Ali’s products are so versatile that I can easily include items from Story kits, digital kits and other kits, they compliment each other because of Ali’s consistent and classic designs.
